Strong & Grounded · Western Heritage Rustic

A lone bison stands square to the viewer among pale teal sagebrush, set against a cream background with worn, peeling patches.

A single bison stands facing straight ahead, its dark eyes level with yours. The curved gray horns, heavy brow and dark beard are drawn in close detail. The shaggy coat runs from pale tan on the hump to deep rust and brown near the face and legs, built up in short, choppy strokes.

Bison are the largest land animals in North America, and a bull can weigh well over a thousand pounds. That is the kind of presence this piece has. The animal fills almost the whole frame and stands in clumps of silvery teal sagebrush, a plant that covers much of the open West.

The background looks like old cream-painted boards, with thin vertical lines and small patches of rust brown where the paint seems to have chipped away. The rust, cream and soft teal palette works well in a ranch-style living room, a cabin den, an entryway or a lodge-style bedroom. It pairs easily with leather chairs, plaid throws and natural wood. For anyone who collects western wall art or bison decor, this is a strong focal piece.

Frequently Asked Questions

Canvas, framed art print or art print — what's the difference?

Canvas is printed on textured cotton-polyester canvas and stretched over slim 0.79" (2 cm) wood bars — finished at the edges and ready to hang, with or without a floating frame. A framed art print is printed on premium matte paper and arrives in a pine wood frame behind shatterproof plexiglass, ready to hang. An art print is the unframed paper print, for when you'd like to choose your own frame. You'll find the exact details for your selection under Product Specifications.

How do I choose the right size?

Measure the wall space you want to fill. Above a sofa or bed, a piece about two-thirds of the furniture's width usually looks balanced. For smaller walls, nooks or gallery walls, smaller sizes work well. Our Size Guide shows every size in a room setting for comparison.

Does it arrive ready to hang?

Yes. Canvas and framed art prints arrive ready to hang with the hanging hardware included; framed canvas and framed art prints come with a pre-installed sawtooth hanger. Art prints are shipped unframed.

When will my order arrive?

Every piece is printed to order in the USA. Your estimated delivery date is shown right below the Add to Cart button and already accounts for production and shipping. Shipping is free on all US orders.

What if my order arrives damaged or misprinted?

Just email us at info@maisoncanvas.com within 60 days of delivery with a photo of the issue, and we'll send a free replacement or a refund. Because every piece is made to order, we can't accept returns for a change of mind or an incorrect size selection. Full details are in our Refund Policy.

Will the colors look the same as on my screen?

We work hard to show every piece as accurately as possible. Screens differ in brightness and color settings, so the printed colors can look very slightly different from what you see on your device.

How do I care for my artwork?

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid moisture, cleaning sprays and long periods of direct sunlight to keep the colors at their best.
