Calm & Graceful · Japandi Charcoal Sketch

A single heron in profile, drawn with a few confident dark strokes and a spark of orange.

A heron in profile fills this drawing, its long beak pointing left and one bright orange eye looking out. The head is mostly black and white, with a few thin plumes streaming back behind it. The neck curves down in soft gray smudges, ending in a loose fringe of fine lines.

The look is quick and expressive, like charcoal and chalk on warm sand-colored paper. Strokes are rough and uneven, with smudged shading, scattered black ink dots and a broad black shape at the shoulder. The edges of the page show a rough band of terracotta orange, which echoes the beak and eye. Black, cream, sand and soft orange make a calm, limited palette.

This heron wall art suits Japandi rooms, where simple shapes and natural tones matter. It sits well above a low bench in an entryway, over a bedroom dresser, or beside a window in a quiet reading corner. It pairs easily with light oak, linen and black ceramic. It would make a thoughtful gift for a bird watcher or anyone who loves a calm, minimalist home.

Frequently Asked Questions

Canvas, framed art print or art print — what's the difference?

Canvas is printed on textured cotton-polyester canvas and stretched over slim 0.79" (2 cm) wood bars — finished at the edges and ready to hang, with or without a floating frame. A framed art print is printed on premium matte paper and arrives in a pine wood frame behind shatterproof plexiglass, ready to hang. An art print is the unframed paper print, for when you'd like to choose your own frame. You'll find the exact details for your selection under Product Specifications.

How do I choose the right size?

Measure the wall space you want to fill. Above a sofa or bed, a piece about two-thirds of the furniture's width usually looks balanced. For smaller walls, nooks or gallery walls, smaller sizes work well. Our Size Guide shows every size in a room setting for comparison.

Does it arrive ready to hang?

Yes. Canvas and framed art prints arrive ready to hang with the hanging hardware included; framed canvas and framed art prints come with a pre-installed sawtooth hanger. Art prints are shipped unframed.

When will my order arrive?

Every piece is printed to order in the USA. Your estimated delivery date is shown right below the Add to Cart button and already accounts for production and shipping. Shipping is free on all US orders.

What if my order arrives damaged or misprinted?

Just email us at info@maisoncanvas.com within 60 days of delivery with a photo of the issue, and we'll send a free replacement or a refund. Because every piece is made to order, we can't accept returns for a change of mind or an incorrect size selection. Full details are in our Refund Policy.

Will the colors look the same as on my screen?

We work hard to show every piece as accurately as possible. Screens differ in brightness and color settings, so the printed colors can look very slightly different from what you see on your device.

How do I care for my artwork?

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid moisture, cleaning sprays and long periods of direct sunlight to keep the colors at their best.
