Calm & Grounded · Japandi Charcoal Study

A crane turns its head and rests its long bill against its chest, surrounded by tall, thin reed strokes.

A bare wall above a low console or a wooden bench is a good home for this crane. The bird stands with its head bowed and its long gray bill pointed down toward its chest. A bright red patch crowns its head, and a white stripe runs along the cheek. Its back is a heavy mass of black and charcoal gray feathers, with a pale cream patch across the shoulders.

The drawing looks quick and loose. Dark smudged strokes build up the feathers, and thin pencil-like lines rise behind the bird as tall reeds. Streaks of warm tan and sand sit behind them on a soft cream ground, so the whole scene feels calm and uncluttered.

The muted palette of black, cream, gray and tan, with one small spot of red, fits a Japandi home well. Hang this crane wall art in a living room beside a light oak sideboard, in a bedroom above a simple bed, or in an entryway where you want a quiet focal point. It also pairs nicely with linen, pale wood and a ceramic vase.

Frequently Asked Questions

Canvas, framed art print or art print — what's the difference?

Canvas is printed on textured cotton-polyester canvas and stretched over slim 0.79" (2 cm) wood bars — finished at the edges and ready to hang, with or without a floating frame. A framed art print is printed on premium matte paper and arrives in a pine wood frame behind shatterproof plexiglass, ready to hang. An art print is the unframed paper print, for when you'd like to choose your own frame. You'll find the exact details for your selection under Product Specifications.

How do I choose the right size?

Measure the wall space you want to fill. Above a sofa or bed, a piece about two-thirds of the furniture's width usually looks balanced. For smaller walls, nooks or gallery walls, smaller sizes work well. Our Size Guide shows every size in a room setting for comparison.

Does it arrive ready to hang?

Yes. Canvas and framed art prints arrive ready to hang with the hanging hardware included; framed canvas and framed art prints come with a pre-installed sawtooth hanger. Art prints are shipped unframed.

When will my order arrive?

Every piece is printed to order in the USA. Your estimated delivery date is shown right below the Add to Cart button and already accounts for production and shipping. Shipping is free on all US orders.

What if my order arrives damaged or misprinted?

Just email us at info@maisoncanvas.com within 60 days of delivery with a photo of the issue, and we'll send a free replacement or a refund. Because every piece is made to order, we can't accept returns for a change of mind or an incorrect size selection. Full details are in our Refund Policy.

Will the colors look the same as on my screen?

We work hard to show every piece as accurately as possible. Screens differ in brightness and color settings, so the printed colors can look very slightly different from what you see on your device.

How do I care for my artwork?

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid moisture, cleaning sprays and long periods of direct sunlight to keep the colors at their best.
