A lone seed pod stands tall against a dark wall, lit by a pale cloud of cream.
A single dried poppy pod rises on a long, thin stem, and the whole picture is built around it. The round pod is blue-gray with small rust-red marks, and a crown of ridged points sits on top. Pressed seed pods like this have long been collected by gardeners and botanical artists, who prize their sculptural shape once the petals are gone.
Behind the pod, a soft cream shape glows against the dark. Its edges are ragged and uneven, fading into burgundy, plum and burnt orange. How do I choose the right size?
