A tall bird stands alone in shallow water, framed by marsh grasses and a soft peach sky.
Above a library desk or a dark wood mantel, this gray heron holds your attention. The bird stands in shallow water with its neck curved and its yellow eye turned forward. Its feathers are soft blue-gray with sharp white streaks and a black patch near the wing.
The background is a hazy wash of peach, cream and pale blue. Dry marsh grasses rise on both sides in brown and olive strokes. Below, the water shows a dark blue reflection and a few short horizontal ripples. How do I choose the right size?
