Calm & Quiet · Japandi Ink Study

A tall wading bird stands still in a cloud of deep blue ink, its pale form glowing against the dark.

A heron stands in profile, its long beak pointing right and a thin black plume trailing from the back of its head. The bird is drawn in cream and soft gray, with fine white strands falling from the chest and wing. Behind it, a large cloud of indigo ink fills the scene.

Herons are patient hunters. They can stand motionless in shallow water for long stretches, waiting for a fish to pass. That stillness is what this image captures. The neck curves in a gentle S, and the dark wing patch gives the pale body a strong shape.

The background looks like ink soaked into woven cream cloth. The blue edges are ragged and uneven, with dark specks scattered above and thin drips running down the lower half. The fine weave shows through the cream areas. This indigo and cream wall art suits a japandi living room, a calm bedroom, an entryway or a reading corner, and it pairs well with light oak, linen and plain white walls.

Frequently Asked Questions

Canvas, framed art print or art print — what's the difference?

Canvas is printed on textured cotton-polyester canvas and stretched over slim 0.79" (2 cm) wood bars — finished at the edges and ready to hang, with or without a floating frame. A framed art print is printed on premium matte paper and arrives in a pine wood frame behind shatterproof plexiglass, ready to hang. An art print is the unframed paper print, for when you'd like to choose your own frame. You'll find the exact details for your selection under Product Specifications.

How do I choose the right size?

Measure the wall space you want to fill. Above a sofa or bed, a piece about two-thirds of the furniture's width usually looks balanced. For smaller walls, nooks or gallery walls, smaller sizes work well. Our Size Guide shows every size in a room setting for comparison.

Does it arrive ready to hang?

Yes. Canvas and framed art prints arrive ready to hang with the hanging hardware included; framed canvas and framed art prints come with a pre-installed sawtooth hanger. Art prints are shipped unframed.

When will my order arrive?

Every piece is printed to order in the USA. Your estimated delivery date is shown right below the Add to Cart button and already accounts for production and shipping. Shipping is free on all US orders.

What if my order arrives damaged or misprinted?

Just email us at info@maisoncanvas.com within 60 days of delivery with a photo of the issue, and we'll send a free replacement or a refund. Because every piece is made to order, we can't accept returns for a change of mind or an incorrect size selection. Full details are in our Refund Policy.

Will the colors look the same as on my screen?

We work hard to show every piece as accurately as possible. Screens differ in brightness and color settings, so the printed colors can look very slightly different from what you see on your device.

How do I care for my artwork?

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid moisture, cleaning sprays and long periods of direct sunlight to keep the colors at their best.
