Elegant & Calm · Vintage Botanical Study

A single iris is drawn whole, from ruffled petals down to its small bulb and trailing roots.

Above a console table in a quiet entryway, this iris study looks right at home. One tall bloom fills the upper half, with ruffled petals in plum, orchid and soft lilac. Fine veins run through each petal, and the edges curl and ripple a little, as real petals do.

The drawing follows the whole plant. A band of orange and pale blue fuzz marks the center of the flower. A slim green stem rises from a round, earthy bulb with thin roots below. Gray-green leaves fan out on both sides. The background is a warm cream with faint, cloudy shading, so the flower stands clear. The surface looks like soft watercolor with fine pen lines.

This purple iris wall art suits a dining room, a bedroom, a study or a formal sitting room. It pairs well with dark wood, cream upholstery, brass lamps and deep green velvet. Plum and sage green work nicely in a luxury botanical decor scheme, and the vintage botanical look sits well beside gilded mirrors or a pair of matching studies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Canvas, framed art print or art print — what's the difference?

Canvas is printed on textured cotton-polyester canvas and stretched over slim 0.79" (2 cm) wood bars — finished at the edges and ready to hang, with or without a floating frame. A framed art print is printed on premium matte paper and arrives in a pine wood frame behind shatterproof plexiglass, ready to hang. An art print is the unframed paper print, for when you'd like to choose your own frame. You'll find the exact details for your selection under Product Specifications.

How do I choose the right size?

Measure the wall space you want to fill. Above a sofa or bed, a piece about two-thirds of the furniture's width usually looks balanced. For smaller walls, nooks or gallery walls, smaller sizes work well. Our Size Guide shows every size in a room setting for comparison.

Does it arrive ready to hang?

Yes. Canvas and framed art prints arrive ready to hang with the hanging hardware included; framed canvas and framed art prints come with a pre-installed sawtooth hanger. Art prints are shipped unframed.

When will my order arrive?

Every piece is printed to order in the USA. Your estimated delivery date is shown right below the Add to Cart button and already accounts for production and shipping. Shipping is free on all US orders.

What if my order arrives damaged or misprinted?

Just email us at info@maisoncanvas.com within 60 days of delivery with a photo of the issue, and we'll send a free replacement or a refund. Because every piece is made to order, we can't accept returns for a change of mind or an incorrect size selection. Full details are in our Refund Policy.

Will the colors look the same as on my screen?

We work hard to show every piece as accurately as possible. Screens differ in brightness and color settings, so the printed colors can look very slightly different from what you see on your device.

How do I care for my artwork?

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid moisture, cleaning sprays and long periods of direct sunlight to keep the colors at their best.
