Moody & Warm · Dark Academia Romantic

A field of red poppies grows around a broken stone gateway while the sky glows orange behind it.

If your taste runs to dark academia, this scene fits right in. Red poppies fill the foreground, and a weathered stone gateway rises behind them. Past the opening, more poppies stretch toward low hills under a glowing orange sky.

The flowers are a deep, saturated red with dark centers, set against gray-green stems and a few round seed pods. The gateway is built from pale blocks with chipped edges, a heavy stone lintel and carved details along the top. Crumbling walls step down on either side. The sky moves from soft teal overhead to bright orange clouds near the horizon. The surface shows thick, ridged strokes in the clouds, the sky and the stone, so the whole scene looks layered and rich.

The piece suits a library, study, reading nook or dining room, and it pairs well with dark wood, deep green walls and old books. Its bold red and orange also warm up a neutral living room or entryway. Hang it alone as a focal point, or beside classical sketches and vintage botanical pieces for a collected, scholarly look.

Frequently Asked Questions

Canvas, framed art print or art print — what's the difference?

Canvas is printed on textured cotton-polyester canvas and stretched over slim 0.79" (2 cm) wood bars — finished at the edges and ready to hang, with or without a floating frame. A framed art print is printed on premium matte paper and arrives in a pine wood frame behind shatterproof plexiglass, ready to hang. An art print is the unframed paper print, for when you'd like to choose your own frame. You'll find the exact details for your selection under Product Specifications.

How do I choose the right size?

Measure the wall space you want to fill. Above a sofa or bed, a piece about two-thirds of the furniture's width usually looks balanced. For smaller walls, nooks or gallery walls, smaller sizes work well. Our Size Guide shows every size in a room setting for comparison.

Does it arrive ready to hang?

Yes. Canvas and framed art prints arrive ready to hang with the hanging hardware included; framed canvas and framed art prints come with a pre-installed sawtooth hanger. Art prints are shipped unframed.

When will my order arrive?

Every piece is printed to order in the USA. Your estimated delivery date is shown right below the Add to Cart button and already accounts for production and shipping. Shipping is free on all US orders.

What if my order arrives damaged or misprinted?

Just email us at info@maisoncanvas.com within 60 days of delivery with a photo of the issue, and we'll send a free replacement or a refund. Because every piece is made to order, we can't accept returns for a change of mind or an incorrect size selection. Full details are in our Refund Policy.

Will the colors look the same as on my screen?

We work hard to show every piece as accurately as possible. Screens differ in brightness and color settings, so the printed colors can look very slightly different from what you see on your device.

How do I care for my artwork?

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid moisture, cleaning sprays and long periods of direct sunlight to keep the colors at their best.
