Dramatic & Romantic · Dark Academia Ruins

Two cracked pillars frame a sky that burns from deep crimson to pale blue, with a columned ruin waiting beyond.

Two tall stone pillars stand like a doorway, and through the gap a sky catches fire. Heavy clouds glow crimson, burnt orange and plum, with a patch of cool blue showing behind them. Far off, a small columned building sits among dark trees, with low hills fading into the glow.

Look closely at the stone. The blocks are cracked, uneven and worn at the edges, with carved bands along the tops of the pillars that suggest a classical building long left to nature. Vines climb the left pillar and spill red and pink blossoms across the top. More red flowers crowd the foreground around a flat, broken stone path.

The image is built from chunky, layered strokes that give clouds and leaves a thick, dabbed look. Collectors of moody, scholarly decor will find plenty to study here. It suits a library, study, reading nook, dining room or entryway, and it pairs well with dark wood, deep green walls, burgundy upholstery and brass lamps.

Frequently Asked Questions

Canvas, framed art print or art print — what's the difference?

Canvas is printed on textured cotton-polyester canvas and stretched over slim 0.79" (2 cm) wood bars — finished at the edges and ready to hang, with or without a floating frame. A framed art print is printed on premium matte paper and arrives in a pine wood frame behind shatterproof plexiglass, ready to hang. An art print is the unframed paper print, for when you'd like to choose your own frame. You'll find the exact details for your selection under Product Specifications.

How do I choose the right size?

Measure the wall space you want to fill. Above a sofa or bed, a piece about two-thirds of the furniture's width usually looks balanced. For smaller walls, nooks or gallery walls, smaller sizes work well. Our Size Guide shows every size in a room setting for comparison.

Does it arrive ready to hang?

Yes. Canvas and framed art prints arrive ready to hang with the hanging hardware included; framed canvas and framed art prints come with a pre-installed sawtooth hanger. Art prints are shipped unframed.

When will my order arrive?

Every piece is printed to order in the USA. Your estimated delivery date is shown right below the Add to Cart button and already accounts for production and shipping. Shipping is free on all US orders.

What if my order arrives damaged or misprinted?

Just email us at info@maisoncanvas.com within 60 days of delivery with a photo of the issue, and we'll send a free replacement or a refund. Because every piece is made to order, we can't accept returns for a change of mind or an incorrect size selection. Full details are in our Refund Policy.

Will the colors look the same as on my screen?

We work hard to show every piece as accurately as possible. Screens differ in brightness and color settings, so the printed colors can look very slightly different from what you see on your device.

How do I care for my artwork?

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid moisture, cleaning sprays and long periods of direct sunlight to keep the colors at their best.
