Moody & Dramatic · Dark Academia Gothic

A single dark rose grows out of a split column, with rusty streaks running down the wall behind it.

Dark academia decor often leans on old stone, faded paper and one moody flower. This piece has all three. A deep plum rose sits at the center, its layered petals folded into a tight spiral. Two small buds and sharp-edged green leaves grow on a thorny stem that rises from a cracked, fluted column.

The background looks like an aged cream sheet with torn, ragged edges. Rust-brown streaks run down it in thin lines. A mottled teal border surrounds the panel, patched with brown and dark green, like a worn wall. The column below is nearly black, with reddish drips trailing down its dark ribs.

The colors are plum, teal, cream and rust, with a little forest green. That mix suits a library, a study, a reading nook or a dining room with dark wood furniture. Hang it above a bookcase or desk, or beside antique frames, candlesticks and leather-bound books. It also works in a bedroom that favors deep jewel tones and vintage character.

Frequently Asked Questions

Canvas, framed art print or art print — what's the difference?

Canvas is printed on textured cotton-polyester canvas and stretched over slim 0.79" (2 cm) wood bars — finished at the edges and ready to hang, with or without a floating frame. A framed art print is printed on premium matte paper and arrives in a pine wood frame behind shatterproof plexiglass, ready to hang. An art print is the unframed paper print, for when you'd like to choose your own frame. You'll find the exact details for your selection under Product Specifications.

How do I choose the right size?

Measure the wall space you want to fill. Above a sofa or bed, a piece about two-thirds of the furniture's width usually looks balanced. For smaller walls, nooks or gallery walls, smaller sizes work well. Our Size Guide shows every size in a room setting for comparison.

Does it arrive ready to hang?

Yes. Canvas and framed art prints arrive ready to hang with the hanging hardware included; framed canvas and framed art prints come with a pre-installed sawtooth hanger. Art prints are shipped unframed.

When will my order arrive?

Every piece is printed to order in the USA. Your estimated delivery date is shown right below the Add to Cart button and already accounts for production and shipping. Shipping is free on all US orders.

What if my order arrives damaged or misprinted?

Just email us at info@maisoncanvas.com within 60 days of delivery with a photo of the issue, and we'll send a free replacement or a refund. Because every piece is made to order, we can't accept returns for a change of mind or an incorrect size selection. Full details are in our Refund Policy.

Will the colors look the same as on my screen?

We work hard to show every piece as accurately as possible. Screens differ in brightness and color settings, so the printed colors can look very slightly different from what you see on your device.

How do I care for my artwork?

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid moisture, cleaning sprays and long periods of direct sunlight to keep the colors at their best.
